The 10 Best things I love about Morocco

Hey ya All, Back with a list of my 10 best thing I love about Morocco.

Here you go and enjoy it.

1 The hospitality:

You do find it everywhere and it is different in every corner in this world, but here in Morocco is so different. You can’t pass by your neighbors without stopping you to ask about yourself and all your family. Each house you entered it is a must to eat and drink, if not for a meal then at least for tea « atay » and bread.......You don’t get to disappear without getting noticed. And if you need help at anytime, anywhere you will definitely find it.

2 The famous Atay:

Hospitality can’t be completed without serving Moroccan tea which is a green tea with mint and sugar actually a lot of sugar? If it’s not sweet then it’s not Atay. This is the daily drink that you find in all Moroccan houses all the time either for breakfast after lunch before diner or even after diner. Not to forget your guests can’t leave without even having a cup of tea.Atay can be served to cool off on a hot summer day or stay warm on a cold winter night.

3. Khobz—Bread:

There are so many types of khobz in Morocco, basic khobz (white bread), khobz dyal zraa (wheat bread), khobz dyal smida (semolina bread), khobz belboula (barley bread), batbout (pita bread equivalent), harsha (corn bread), msemen(square crepe), meloui (circle crepe) and baghrir (pancake).Moroccans are known of making their own bread at home. Khobz accompany all the meals served during the day. And it can be eaten plain specially when coming out straight from the oven.

4. Eating with your hands:

We have a famous saying “nothing can make you feel full other then ur own hand” So basically khobz or your right hand is your eating utensil.
And what’s better then that. You get to enjoy the most of your food better then any spoon or fork.

5. Eating from a communal plate:

You will find many plates in the table but not empty ones. Usually you will find the main dish in a big plate in the middle of the table and the side dishes around it, and we all eat from the same plate of course each one eat from his front section as per the Moroccan eating manners.
This just keeps the family members connected and no place for the smart phones attacks while eating.

6. The sun:

One of the best things in Morocco.
I remember my childhood where we used to sleep under the shining sun for some Vitamin D and some peaceful time, it’s a like a mood booster soooo energizing and refreshing after the cold winters.

7. Moroccan dancing:

And specially the folklore.
Each region in Morocco is known of its special and really different styles from north to south.
The Diversity known in this country can’t be found anywhere else other then Morocco.

8. Tangerines:

The tangerines in Morocco are the best You ll ever taste! You do eat them like candies! The name originally comes from the city Tangier. They are most widely grown in Tangier, Oujda and Agadir, and are available during the autumn and spring. The one could eat as many as he can during the day and not even get enough. Didn’t taste anything like it there anywhere else.

9. Moroccan Weddings:

One of the best, joyful, tiring and yet unforgettable experience ever. Usually it used to take over 7 nights for a wedding that’s s been shortened for 2 nights now a days of celebrations. And I just love everything about Moroccan weddings from preparations to first night of Henna for the bride to the reception party with its music, dresses changing of the bride who can change her dress for at-least 5 times in one night and the atmosphere and the blessings of the families.

10. Landscapes:

The natural landscapes of Morocco are breathtaking! There is so much diversity too. You find the sea, the rivers, the waterfalls, the mountains covered with the snow, and the desert with many camels walking through.

From north to south Morocco is definitely a great place to visit.
