Ramadan soup Harira

Hello there & welcome again to my blog,

First i want to wish you all Ramadan Kareem as its the first day here in Morocco.

May this Ramadan bring you you the utmost in peace and prosperity.


I spoke earlier about my 10 best food in Morocco and told you guys about Harira that is a most in most moroccan houses during Ramadan, and here im back the reciepe, try it and enjoy it:

Ingedients

  • ½ kg of tomatoes
  • 100 grams of boneless beef cut in small potions
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 cup of rice (or vermicelli) 
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 cup of soaked chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons of Flour

  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • 1 bouquet of chopped parsley and coriandre.
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of saffron
  • Lentils


Preparation
  1. Put onions, chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and meat in a cooking pot
  2. Add oil, chickpeas, parsley and all the spices and 2 liters of water
  3. Leave on a medium heat for 20 min
  4. add the 2 tablespoons of Flour mixed with some water and the coriander and keep on a medium heat for another 30 stirring continously.
  5. add the lentils
  6. Add the rice (or vermicelli) and leave for an extra 10 minutes while stirring.


You can slightly change the above ingredients and preparation for Harira (Moroccan Soup) to match your needs and tast.



And it goes with the Moroccans favorite sweets of Ramadan called '' SHEBAKEYA''
